Dan Snyder just Tebowed in front of the New York writers.

The RGIII-era Dan Snyder is the kind of Dan Snyder who poses for photos with Hooters waitresses and also has fun with the New York media while wearing his gym clothes.

These rapid-fire reports from the owners meetings in Florida late Tuesday afternoon were fairly remarkable, as was the subsequent coverage in the New York Post.

“Redskins owner kneels to Jets QB Tebow,” was the headline, which had no particular relation to reality.

“‘Hey... look at this!’ a sweat-soaked Snyder said as he Tebowed in workout clothes, then walked away laughing loudly,” The Post reported. (The news was also on NFL.com.)

SportsBusiness Journal’s Daniel Kaplan wrote on Twitter that Snyder specifically called out the New York Daily News before posing. Evidently there is no photographic evidence of this, which is an awful, awful thing to have to type.

Dan Snyder, in workout clothes, just walked by and did a quick, mini tebowing pose. Didn’t get down on his knee though.

I must say, the idea of Dan Snyder mocking another team’s high-profile acquisition pretty much defines the word “irony.”
