Having said that, hey, did you hear about the back-and-forth between DeAngelo Hall and Carlos Rogers? It’s super fun stuff!
First Rogers discussed his future with David Elfin from 106.7 The Fan, saying this:
“I don’t think I’ve been as appreciated as I should be in that organization, not by everybody. I’ve always been the No. 2 corner, but I’m the one they put on a guy they want to shut down. I just don’t have the interceptions like (current fellow starting corner DeAngelo Hall) has and Shawn (Springs, Hall’s predecessor) used to have.”
Then he exchanged texts with Chris Russell from ESPN 980, writing this:
“I wasn’t the corner that gave up the most TD’s or yards or first downs,” Rogers wrote, “but I’m the corner that is looked at [as] the 2nd corner, [that] I need to be replaced.”
I was never focused on who was the #1 corner on our team. Just focused on tryna WIn Games! Hope all of my teammates feel the same way!....Definitely would trade all the personal rewards to bring a Championship back to DC and the Best Fans in the NFL!!...No player on our team or in the NFL for that matter can be successful w/ out the coaches and their teammates!
Meanwhile, Hall’s former Virginia Tech teammate, longtime friend and business associate Brenden Hill also weighed in, like this:
Whats up w/ this guy Carlos Rogers man...haha seriously Nobody called you the #2 corner you just played like it!....One of the biggest differences between winning and losing is turnovers. They don’t pay you to knock the ball down! Less Talk more Plays!...And at the end of the day it’s about the team. Dude is worried about who is #1! Just win games and you’ll all be #1 Corners!
Oh, and Rogers was on 106.7 The Fan Thursday morning, where he was asked about his relationship with Hall.
“We’ve got a great relationship,” Rogers said. “We’ve got a great relationship.”
