Gary Williams on the Big Ten Network

Two good nuggets from Gary Williams’s recent sit-down with Comcast SportsNet’s Chick Hernandez.

1) On whether his coaching days are done,

“I hope so,” Williams said. “You never say never. But in terms of coaching itself, I was fortunate. I coached in the Big East, the Big Ten and the ACC. So I’m not gonna go coach somewhere that’s not at that level. And at my age, you’re not the age they want to start up a program or anything like that. So I think my days of coaching are done.”

2) On the claim that he sabotaged N.C. State’s coaching search,

“You know,  I’m not like that,” he said. “I’m not that type of person. Whatever I am, I am. I just put it out there. And some people don’t like you, people like you, whatever. But the ridiculous part of that statement is how would I know? How would I know what coaches are being interviewed? Why do I care who the basketball coach is at N.C. State? ”

Also, here is Gary Williams, media member, breaking down Michigan State-Florida State for the Big Ten Network. His studio debut as a Big Ten Network analyst was earlier this week.
