If you were waiting for someone to relate the Jeremy Lin “chink in the armor” ESPN mobile headline to the nickname of Washington’s pro football team, wait no longer.

“My guess would be, far more people would find the deliberate use of the word ‘redskins,’ which has no other meaning, much more derogatory and offensive than saying that somebody has a chink in his armor, a phrase which appears in the news with regard to dozens of other situations,” GW public policy law professor John Banzhaf told WTOP.

Banzhaf also told the station’s Nathan Hager that he would like to “challenge the broadcast licenses of TV and radio stations that use the word redskin.”

Meanwhile, the ex-ESPN employee who wrote that headline issued a lengthy apology and explanation.
