That was Rex Grossman in August. Of course, instead of winning the East, the Redskins finished in last place in the division for the fourth straight year.

So, time to back off the division championship talk? Hellllllll no.

In what’s literally the most amazing 30-second video clip from this season, Comcast SportsNet caught Kyle Shanahan’s pre-game on-field message to his offense Sunday afternoon. NFL rules prohibit me from including the clip here, but please, go watch it. It’s amazing. The text:

“Hey, about an hour ago, their D coordinator told us, told [offensive line coach Chris] Foerster, that if the Giants would have lost last week, they were in the playoffs. He didn’t mention that they still had to beat us today. [Bleep] him, [bleep] these guys, In 2012 the Redskins are gonna be the NFC East champions, and that starts right [bleeping] today.”

And then the Redskins suffered their worst lost of the season.

Thanks to Comcast SportsNet for capturing and publishing that iconic moment, though.
