“You know what? That’s ok. Because I know that most of the people out there nowadays don’t have a lot of creativity. We’ve got people out there transcribing live radio shows because they cannot come up with an original idea to save their lives. So, fantastic. We do what we do here on Redskins Nation. We hoped you enjoyed our interviews with the newest Redskins.”
Oh, I did. Tremendously.
But who could he be talking about that has so little creativity that he or she has to transcribe live radio shows? What sort of punk would make a living by talking about what other people are doing or saying? What a punk that person or those persons must be.
Me personally, I prefer transcribing taped television interviews. Which is why I will now present transcripts of taped television interviews Josh Morgan and Pierre Garcon granted to Larry Michael, the host of Redskins Nation, which airs weekdays at 5:30 and 11:30 on Comcast SportsNet.
The free-agent signing from Indianapolis appeared last week on Redskins Nation, which airs weekdays at 5:30 and 11:30 on Comcast SportsNet. Watch the interview here.
“Welcome to Washington, you’ve got to be excited,” said/asked Larry Michael, the host of Redskins Nation, during an episode of Redskins Nation.
“Oh yes, very excited to be here in Washington,” Garcon told Redskins Nation.
“I know it must have been a very busy start to free agency for you,” Michael said/asked. “Just tell us how the thing unfolded, because everybody was in the starting blocks, 4 o’clock came, and Redskins fans, when they heard they had a game breaker coming to Washington, everybody was real happy. How did it unfold?”
“It was tough,” Garcon said. “At 4 o’clock, phones just started ringing. And my first call was from Kyle. He called me up, told me how much he wanted me, and I was like I want to be in Washington, let’s get it done.”
“You know Kyle Shanahan, you know Mike Shanahan, you know that you’re going to have a new quarterback here,” Michael said. “We don’t know exactly who. The trade was approved. Everybody’s excited. It’s gonna be one of two guys. And that’s got to make you feel good.”
“Oh, it’s got to be a great feeling,” Garcon said. “It’s gonna be a fresh new start, and we’ve got a lot of great receivers around us, and we’re gonna make things happen.”
The free-agent signing from San Francisco appeared last week on Redskins Nation, which airs weekdays at 5:30 and 11:30 on Comcast SportsNet. Watch the interview here.
“DC’s own Josh Morgan, coming home,” said/asked Larry Michael, the host of Redskins Nation, during an episode of Redskins Nation. “How does that feel?”
“Man it’s a dream come true man, a dream come true, for real,” Morgan told Redskins Nation. “I never in my wildest dreams would have thought this.”
“Now you’ve got to tell me — H.D. Woodson High school — you’ve got to tell me you grew up a Redskins fan,” Michael said/asked. “Now be honest with me.”
“Had no choice,” Morgan answered.
“You had no choice!” Michael said.
“Had no choice,” Morgan agreed. “From your grandfather to your father to your godfather, everybody’s Redskins fans, so it’s kind of forced upon you.”
“So we don’t need to tell you about the colors, burgundy and gold, that’s in your blood,” Michael said.
“It’s in my blood, man,” Morgan agreed, leading to this “Redskins Are In My Blood” headline on the team web site.
“That’s great, man,” Michael said. “...You know Redskins fans all over Washington are just gonna fall in love with Josh Morgan because he is homegrown. Who were some of your Redskins idols growing up?...You’re not that old, but I know you know your Redskins history, and you probably had some guys you looked up to.”
“Yeah, most definitely,” Morgan said. “My father used to always tell me about Doug Williams. I used to always watch him and Art Monk, those are some of my father’s favorites. My godfather, he loves Darrell Green, loves him to death, idolizes him. Those are probably my top three favorites. My father also liked Brian Mitchell and all those guys. So it’s a lot of them, but those are probably my top four.”
Both of these interviews, and all the creativity therein, appeared on Redskins Nation, which airs weekdays at 5:30 and 11:30 on Comcast SportsNet.
