It’s probably a good idea for us to stop promising to make something our “last Clown Question post” because then when someone does something worth telling you about, it makes liars out of us.
Denver Beer Company is brewing a beer called Clown Question, just for Bryce Harper.
What most people don’t know, insists the Denver Beer Co’s Charlie Berger, is that Harper was actually answering that clown question by naming his favorite beer -- even if he didn’t know it. “You just have to change the emphasis of the words in his comment,” Berger says.
Either way, Denver Beer Co is brewing a beer -- a Canadian lager -- called Clown Question, Bro, which will be ready by June 25, when the Nationals come to Denver for a four-game stand against the Colorado Rockies.
“Maybe he’ll come here, although he can’t drink it here,” says Berger, who says the beer will be an easy drinking lager-like brew similar to Kokanee. It is definitely his favorite beer, and maybe we’ll serve it with a big red clown nose.”
I don't know much about the brewing process, but can you really ferment a decent beer in ten days?
In other clown question news, Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia says he knows the media member who asked Bryce Harper the offending question and plans to “blow him up” when the Sox are in Toronto in September.
“Poor kid,” Pedroia told ESPN on Wednesday. “I would have said [expletive] you, I’m 19.”
Yeah, but then we wouldn’t have cool t-shirts.
BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER...
* Kilgore’s story about Harper as a possible all-star includes this nugget: “The youngest player to make the Midsummer Classic is right-hander Dwight Gooden in 1984, then a 19-year-old New York Mets rookie also managed by Davey Johnson.”
* Mike Wise says that LeBron is silencing his critics.
* The Mystics are making roster moves in an effort to shake things up.
