The 2012 Preakness Stakes are tomorrow, which means that some of you are carbo-loading, filling your camelbacks and decorating your crash helmets.
I’ve never experienced the infield at Pimlico thanks to equal parts fear and “I’m too old for this.” Maybe I’m too far removed from my crazy college days, but this doesn’t look fun.
That’s not to pass judgement on those brave souls who are planning on testing the boundaries of your internal organs for $60 ($80 with the all you can drink Mug Club, you overachiever, you). Maybe you’ll even see some racing. I’ll Have Another, while currently not the favorite to win, is aptly named.
To get you ready for the race, you can read Liz Clarke’s story on Under Armour chief Kevin Plank’s horse, Tiger Walk, right here.
Or Andy Beyer’s prediction here.
Here is the draw and Beyer’s analysis of the field.
And staff photographer Jonathan Newton’s photo gallery from Pimlico is gorgeous.
Go, have fun, hang out with Kegasus, Lord of the Infield.
And for heaven’s sake, send me pictures.
BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER...
* A former Mystic bravely talks about her battle with depression.
* The Staples Center will host six playoff games in about 80 hours. So jealous.

It’s an interesting idea. Except that no man I know is spending $28 on a candle.
This guy gets paid to verbally abuse Wall Street guys. Where do I sign up? (NSFW if you are sensitive to cursing. Or, if you’re a Wall Street guy.)
