Nats game delayed by praying mantis

I meant to share this with you all earlier, but I got distracted by much less important things.

Sunday’s Nats game was briefly delayed by a praying mantis in the outfield. Mets outfielder Scott Hairston took some heat for keeping his distance, but I give him credit for sharing the same grass with that thing. I would have booked it to the dugout.

As you can see, someone from the Nats grounds crew safely removed the giant insect from the field, presumably to save him and use him to take out Teddy in the next Presidents Race.
