Redskins announce reduced schedule for Sam Huff

The longtime Redskins radio color duo of Sonny Jurgensen and Sam Huff will continue for at least another season, although in reduced fashion.

Red Zebra Broadcasting announced on Tuesday afternoon that Huff and Jurgensen were re-signed for the upcoming season, but that Huff would only work 10 regular-season games: all eight home games and the road games in New York and Dallas. The press release said Huff — who has been part of Redskins radio broadcasts since 1975 — chose the reduced schedule himself, based on “the rigors of travel.”

As a team, Huff and Jurgensen have been part of Redskins radio broadcasts since 1981, a span including more than 600 broadcasts and all three Super Bowl wins.

Larry Michael will continue on the radio play-by-play, and Doc Walker will provide sideline reporting and commentary.
