Busy week for Robert Griffin III. Release an Adidas commercial, sign a contract, make Redskins fans swoon, release a Gatorade commercial.
Yup, that’s right, it’s another new spot for the Redskins quarterback and ultimate pitchman, this one of the 30-second sports drink variety.
“Greatness is not given,” Griffin says in the ad, which Gatorade put online Wednesday night. “Greatness is taken. Taken in the summer. When no one is looking.”
Unless you’re making a commercial. Then a lot of people are looking. Heck, more than 150,000 people looked at his Adidas commercial in its first 36 hours.
In any case, it seems pretty clear that this kid is now D.C.’s most marketable athlete, before he’s played a single down of professional football.
