The woman who announced the Kirk Cousins pick

The question: Who was the woman in the Redskins hat who announced that the team was taking Kirk Cousins in the fourth round?

The answer: Her name is Bridget Dowd, she’s from Newport News, Va., and she won a contest that allowed her to announce a draft pick. SportsBusiness Journal wrote a bit about this issue last week:

Verizon Wireless’ Draft Dream sweepstakes is offering three fans the opportunity to announce picks in the third round. And in the fourth round, some 24 teams are sending guests to New York to make their selections. Many of the guest selectors won the right through local sponsor activation.

And Dowd’s mom, who runs a food blog, mentioned her daughter’s selection.

My daughter won the NFL Dream Draft and she and her dad are headed to NYC to see the NFL draft firsthand and Bridget will announce a draft pick!!
