D.C. tax office shuts down after power outage

The Office of Tax and Revenue closed Wednesday after a power outage at its building at 1101 Fourth St. SW. The closing also shut down the customer service center, and city officials are not sure when the building will reopen, said David Umansky, a spokesman for the office of the chief financial officer.

Umansky said he did not know whether the outage was related to Tuesday’s earthquake.
