Gray names new DDOT and medical services directors

As expected, Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D) announced Wednesday that he would nominate Terry Bellamy, interim director of the District Department of Transportation, as its permanent director.

Bellamy, who has worked at DDOT since 2008, follows Gabe Klein, a director Gray chose not to retain and who now is heading transportation in Chicago.

Bellamy has worked previously in Arlington County and Fayetteville and Greensboro in North Carolina.

Gray also named David Miramontes as the new medical director for DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

Miramontes is currently EMS director, among other titles, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
