9 A.M. Update:

An accident involving three vehicles is blocking one lane of I-270 South at Old Georgetown Road in the Bethesda area.

The East Capitol Street ramp off of I-295 South is still closed.

8:30 A.M. Update:

The off ramp from I-295 South to East Capitol Street is still closed as crews try to tow a disabled tractor trailer. Backups begin at the Baltimore Washington Parkway prior to the Capital Beltway.

The earlier accident on I-495 North toward Bethesda has been cleared and moved to the shoulder.

8:15 A.M. Update:

An accident has snarled traffic on I-495 North between Connecticut Avenue and Rockville Pike toward Bethesda. Two lanes are blocked and traffic is jammed up to Old Georgetown Road.

Traffic is moving smoothly on I-97 South in Glen Burnie. The earlier accident involving an overturned van is still on the shoulder.

The ramp to East Capitol Street is still closed, causing severe back ups on I-295 South.

7:45 A.M. Upda te:

All southbound lanes of I-97 have reopened at Route 174 in the Glen Burnie area. The overturned van has been moved to the shoulder, however traffic is still heavy.

The disabled bus has cleared Route 4 before Dower House Road in Upper Marlboro.

7:25 A.M. Update:

The ramp to East Capitol Street is closed. Crews are trying to remove a tractor trailer that was hanging off the over path to River Terrace and East Capitol Street.

7:15 A.M. Update:

Traffic is now getting by single file on I-97 South in Glen Burnie.

7 A.M. Update:

I-97 South in Anne Arundel County is closed at the Route 174/Quarterfield Road exit. The accident involves two cars, one of which is rolled over on its side.

A disabled bus is blocking the right, westbound lane of Route 4 before Dower House Road in Maryland. Traffic backs up to Old Crain Highway. Expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

6:25 A.M. Update:

I-495 South after Braddock Road and before the I-95 exit is slow because of a vehicle accident. Only the left lane gets by. Expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

An earlier accident on eastbound Route 50 in Annapolis is still being cleaned up, but there are no backups.

The earlier cash on I-66 East near Route 123 has cleared from the right shoulder.

So far:

I-95 North is slow after the Occoquan Bridge because of a disabled vehicle blocking the left shoulder.

The right shoulder of I-66 East near Route 123 is closed because of a vehicle accident. Expect possible delays if you’re heading in that direction.
