Three lanes of the Capital Beltway in each direction are scheduled to close overnight Monday at Route 123 in Tysons Corner, according to officials with the Dulles rail extension project.

The closings are planned for 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Officials said total closures of the Beltway lasting for 30 minutes may be possible as crews move equipment associated with construction of the new rail line.

Officials have plans for additional lane closures throughout the week, but plan to announce specifics daily.

State officials also announced that they plan to totally close I-495 south Friday and Saturday nights this week for steel beam placement associated with construction of the high-occupancy toll (HOT) lanes.

Those closures will be phased in beginning at 9:30 each night, with a full closure happening after 11 Friday and Saturday. Police and signage will guide drivers to detours, officials said. The Beltway is scheduled to reopen by 8 a.m.
