Blue and Orange Line delays

8:45 A.M. Update:

Delays continue on the Blue and Orange Lines, causing major backups at stations throughout the region. The delays are due to a problem with a piece of the track near Federal Triangle, according to Metro spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein. They are working on it now, but there’s no timetable for when the delays might be lifted. Trains are still sharing the same track between the McPherson Square and the Smithsonian stations.

7 :10 A.M. Update:

All of the entrance escalators are not working at the Wheaton station. The elevator is working and shuttle bus service has been requested.

The Blue and Orange Line delays remain due to single-tracking.
