BW Parkway lanes closing this weekend

Late-night drivers on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway should watch out for lane closings this weekend. The Maryland State Highway Administration is working on two projects.

Drivers heading to Baltimore-Washington International Marshall Airport could consider taking Interstates 95 or 97, or Routes 1 or 29 for the north-south parts of their trips. In several areas, the southbound parkway (MD 295) will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

These are the lane closing zones and times.

For the parkway/Hammonds Ferry Road Bridge rehabilitation, south of I-695): Friday night, 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.; Saturday night, 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.; Sunday night, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

For the parkway widening between I-695 and I-195: Sunday night, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The lane closings will begin before the work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and workers, the highway administration said. The southbound closures will start about I-695.
