Metro police said they have recovered a 2004 Audi that belonged to the victim of a carjacking incident at the New Carrollton Metro station May 20.
In that incident, a man was robbed of his car after four men approached him. He suffered minor injuries.
The vehicle was found midday Wednesday in the District, but officials would not give a more specific location because they said it was part of an ongoing investigation.
Police have said the Audi was used in another carjacking incident in Largo, and they are “processing the vehicle for evidence and pursuing all leads in the case.”
Four masked men robbed a 54-year-old father and his daughter, 21, both of Bowie May 24 in the stairwell of a parking garage at the Largo Town Center stop.
The assailants approached the two and demanded their belongings, taking money and their car, a Chevrolet Camaro, according to authorities. The father struggled with the men and was struck in the head with a gun; the woman was shot in the hip, Metro Transit police said.
The father and daughter were treated at a hospital for their injuries and have since been released. Police later recovered the Camaro.
Metro has said it would do more patrolling of the parking garages and lots at its 86 stations after the two carjackings.
