D.C. snow plows being deployed for test run

Despite the fact that it’s still October, the region could see an “unprecedented late October snow event” on Saturday. So it’s fitting that the District’s “Snow Team” will have a dry run this morning to test how ready they are for snow.

Don’t be alarmed if you see plows roaming through the District this morning, because it’s just part of the dry run. The District’s Department of Public Works and Department of Transportation will stage the equipment in RFK Stadium’s Lot 8 until 9:30 a.m, after which the crews will be deployed to test out their routes and equipment.

The practice run will include more than 250 heavy and light plows as well as front-end loaders, used to fill plows with salt, and tow trucks.
