Connecticut Ave. NW reopens after fire

7:21 p.m. update: Traffic cameras now show traffic flowing both ways on Connecticut flowing the earlier fire response.

Original post: Connecticut Avenue NW is blocked at Macomb Street as fire fighters respond to a fire in the garage of a 10-story building, authorities said.

Fire officials said a van was fully involved in flames, with fuel on fire running into the garage in the 3100 block of Connecticut.

Metro said buses on its L Line were running up to 35 minutes late because of the fire.
