Virginia Railway Express and Maryland Area Regional Commuter trains could experience some delays Monday afternoon and evening due to the scorching heat still enveloping the Washington region.

VRE trains on the Fredericksburg Line will operate under heat-related speed restrictions between 1 and 7 p.m. And VRE riders should expect more heat restrictions for the rest of the week, so be prepared.

MARC trains on the Camden and Brunswick lines also will experience heat-related speed restrictions Monday afternoon. This could lead to delays of between five and 15 minutes, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
