Heavy MARC Penn Line delays

9 A.M. Update:

Brunswick Line train 880 departed Brunswick 80 minutes behind schedule. Again, Metro will accept MARC tickets.

8:20 A.M. Update:

Metro will honor MARC tickets this morning, owing to the severe delays facing several trains on the MARC system.

The latest delay: Brunswick Line train 880 is now expected to run an hour late, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.

8 A.M. Update:

Now MARC Penn Line train 502 will end in Baltimore. Train 523 will not run between Perryville and Baltimore; those passengers will be handled by Amtrak train 181 (leaving Perryville at 8:28 a.m., Aberdeen at 8:35 a.m., Edgewood at 8:42 a.m. and Martin Airport at 8:50 a.m.).

Brunswick Line train 880 is also experiencing mechanical problems and will be at least 20 minutes late.

MARC riders are encountering severe delays as the new work week begins. Penn Line trains 404 and 505 will both operate express to Baltimore, while train 406 is making all stops and currently running on time. Train 502 is nearly an hour late, while train 404 is 25 minutes late.

The delays for train 404 stem from delays to train 403, which encountered mechanical problems earlier this morning.
