8:55 A.M. Update:
The tractor trailer accident on southbound I-95 is still blocking the right three lanes. Stay to the left and expect delays approaching this spot. Southbound traffic is backed up, but it doesn’t appear to be having any effect on southbound I-395 and traffic approaching the Springfield Interchange. (Traffic around that spot is the same as usual at this time of morning, which means the usual delays.)
I-66 East is jammed up at the Beltway and again at Glebe Road and the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge right now.
The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Annapolis Road has been cleared and the lanes reopened.
8:35 A.M. Update:
There are accidents reported at 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest, Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Sumner Street in Southeast, Piney Brancy Road and Cedar Street in Northwest and Kenilworth Avenue and Benning Road in Northeast.
An accident on southbound I-395 near Crystal City is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.
There’s also an accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Annapolis Road is blocking one lane and one of the shoulders.
8:20 A.M. Update:
The tractor trailer accident on southbound I-95 at the Fairfax County Parkway is blocking the left center lane, right center lane and right lane. If you are heading that way, stay to the left and expect delays.
8 A.M. Update:
An accident on southbound I-95 at the Fairfax County Parkway is blocking the center and right lanes. Expect big backups for southbound traffic heading this way.
There’s a disabled vehicle on 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest.
The accident on southbound I-270 has been cleared and the lanes reopened.
7:45 A.M. Update:
Now the District Department of Transportation is reporting that the tractor trailer too tall for the 3rd Street Tunnel is on southbound I-395, not northbound as they reported earlier this morning While officials help with moving it, there could be delays approaching this spot.
An accident on southbound I-270 before Falls Road is blocking one local lane and one of the shoulders.
7:17 A.M. Update:
Debris on the inner loop of the Beltway is blocking one lane and one of the shoulders at the Anacostia Freeway.
7:15 A.M. Update:
A tractor trailer on northbound I-395 is too tall for the 3rd Street Tunnel, so officials might stop or detour traffic in this spot while it is moved, according to the District Department of Transportation. If you are heading this way, expect to hit some delays and congestion.
There’s an accident on southbound I-270 before Montrose Road, which could snarl traffic in that area.
An accident at 10th and L streets in Northwest could also cause problems there.
6:45 A.M. Update:
Delays have gotten considerably worse on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway. There are already backups for traffic heading this way, but as traffic gets worse around the Beltway this means commuters around Sudley and Sully roads could find longer delays.
6:25 A.M. Update:
An accident on northbound I-95 in Woodbridge is blocking the right shoulder. There are already delays approaching this spot, but this could add to those backups.
The accident on eastbound U.S. 50 before Collington Road/MD 197 has been cleared.

There are spotty delays on eastbound I-66 on and off beginning at Sudley Road, with delays also visible as you approach Sully Road, Lee Jackson Highway, the Beltway and Glebe Road.
I-95 North is already congested in Woodbridge.
Rolling Road’s through lanes and the shoulders are closed in both directions at Burke Lake Road in Braddock.
