Inner loop lanes blocked in MD

8:35 A.M. Update:

The accident on the inner loop of the Beltway before Cherry Hill Road is now blocking only one inner loop lane, with the other three inner loop lanes open and moving.

Commuters heading inbound on the 14th Street Bridge might run into delays due to an accident on the bridge.

An accident on Massachusetts Avenue between 6th and 7th streets in Northwest Washington could cause severe backups there.

There is also an accident on Pennsylvania Avenue between 7th and 8th streets in Northwest Washington, which could also cause delays.

A disabled vehicle has been reported at New York and Montana avenues in Northeast Washington.

8:15 A.M. Update:

Only two inner loop lanes are open before Cherry Hill Road due to the earlier accident. Expect big delays.

There’s an accident on Germantown Road/MD 118 at Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown.

An accident on 26th and M streets in Northwest Washington could slow traffic in that area.

7:55 A.M. Update:

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway before Cherry Hill Road is blocking two lanes and both shoulders. Expect big delays approaching this spot.

7:30 A.M. Update:

Delays continue on several Virginia roads. The inner loop of the Beltway is still backed up at Arlington Boulevard, I-66 East is delayed approaching the Beltway and Sudley Road and I-395 North is still sluggish at multiple points (as you get close to Washington Boulevard and Duke Street).

7:05 A.M. Update:

The inner loop of the Beltway is backed up at Arlington Boulevard.

There’s also congestion on the inner loop of the Beltway east of New Hampshire Avenue.

6:45 A.M. Update:

The delays on I-95 North now start around Lorton and stretch down to Woodbridge.

I-66 East is delayed approaching the Beltway and Sudley Road.

6:25 A.M. Update:

There’s congestion on northbound I-395 approaching Washington Boulevard and again at Duke Street, stretching back nearly to the Springfield Interchange.

I-95 North is also slow in the Woodbridge area.

Good morning, commuters! We’re in for another day of lovely spring weather according to the Capital Weather Gang.

Remember, the lane closures on 17th Street between Constitution and Indepednence avenues should be lifed by now. They began Wednesday night and were scheduled to run through 4 a.m. Thursday morning.
