Plane lands at Dulles with engine problem

2:30 p.m. Update: A United Airlines Airbus 319 with 129 passengers and crew on board landed without incident at Dulles International Airport Friday afternoon after the pilot told air traffic controllers he detected an abnormal engine vibration.

The pilot did not declare an emergency, and the plane pulled to its assigned gate. Flight 966 originated in Los Angeles.

Original post: A plane landed Friday afternoon at Dulles International Airport with engine trouble, according to a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

The United Airlines flight from Los Angeles made it to the gate and passengers deplaned safely, the spokesman said.
