9:05 A.M. Update:

The outer loop of the Beltway remains blocked near Eisenhower Avenue due to an accident involving a tractor trailer. To detour, take the exit for the Eisenhower Connector and once you pass the signal, re-enter the Beltway heading east.

There are significant delays on the outer loop approaching this spot. And there are also heavy backups for traffic heading that way from northbound I-95 at the Springfield Interchange.

8:45 A.M. Update:

The outer loop of the Beltway is closed at Eisenhower Avenue due to a tractor trailer accident. There are already very heavy backups, but avoid the area.

An accident on southbound I-270 south of Shady Grove Road is blocking two lanes and one of the shoulders.

There’s an accident on the ramp from eastbound I-66 to Independence Avenue that could cause big delays there.

8:25 A.M. Update:

The left lane of South Capitol Street is blocked at Suitland Parkway, so stay to the right and expect delays.

An accident in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE could also cause delays there.

8:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on Suitland Parkway at South Capitol Street could cause delays there.

There’s a reported water main break in the 1400 block of Bladensburg Road NE, which could also cause issues there.

7:50 A.M. Update:

An accident in the 2200 block of Constitution Avenue NW could cause delays around that spot.

Traffic signals are reportedly flashing at the intersection of Florida Avenue and California Street in Northwest Washington.

The debris has been cleared and the right acceleration lane reopened on the inner loop.

7:35 A.M. Update:

Some debris is blocking the right acceleration lane on the inner loop of the Beltway at Ardwick Ardmore Road.

There’s an accident at North Carolina Avenue and 3rd Street in Southeast Washington, so avoid that intersection.

A disabled vehicle in the 1400 block of Kenilworth Avenue NE could cause delays.

7:15 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle has been cleared from the outer loop of the Beltway at I-66.

6:55 A.M. Update:

The southbound G.W. Parkway lanes have all fully reopened, according to the U.S. Park Police. Expect some residual backups due to the closure, but the lanes are all open at Route 123.

6:50 A.M. Update:

One lane has reopened on southbound G.W. Parkway at Route 123, according to the U.S. Park Police.

6:45 A.M. Update:

The inner loop is backed up approaching Gallows Road.

Eastbound I-66 is pretty slow around Chain Bridge Road.

6:30 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at I-66 is blocking the right lane.

6:25 A.M. Update:

A fallen tree has closed southbound G.W. Parkway at Route 123/Chain Bridge Road, something that will cause major delays for commuters in Northern Virginia. Seek alternate routes and expect big problems

Good morning, commuters. There might be showers and storms heading our way this morning, according to the Capital Weather Gang.
