Good morning, commuters!
We’re a week away from Thanksgiving. Have you started planning your holiday getaway? Dr. Gridlock and Dana Hedgpeth will be talking with a panel of transportation officials this afternoon about holiday travel and tackling reader questions.
This webcast will be conducted via Google+ Hangout, but you can watch the live discussion Thursday at noon. Just head back to this blog and you’ll be able to watch. You can also submit questions before and during the chat by tweeting @drgridlock or tweeting with the hashtag #gridchat.
And another note for commuters as you plan your day: A march to the Key Bridge beginning this afternoon and lasting at least into the early part of rush hour could cause traffic problems. The march from McPherson Square to the Key Bridge is scheduled to go from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., so expect some traffic issues along that stretch during that time. For more, head here.
As for this morning’s commute: It’s going to be colder and wetter than we’ve seen in recent days, according to the Capital Weather Gang. The combination of clouds, cold air, wind and showers will make for a “less than optimal commute,” so dress warmly, pack an umbrella and expect to encounter some delays.
We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help: If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.
