Public meeting on Virginia Avenue Tunnel project

Curious about the upcoming work on the Virginia Avenue Tunnel? There will be a public meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., so people can learn more about the project. It will be held at Van Ness Elementary School (1150 5th St. SE, Washington, DC, 20003). It will be an open house event without any formal presentation scheduled.

The tunnel, which runs under Virginia Avenue in Southeast Washington, is owned and maintained by CSX. The project involves rehabilitating the tunnel to expand its capacity and alleviate congestion.
