8:25 A.M. Update:

Dan Stessel, a Metro spokesman, said a female passenager around 7:30 a.m. this morning made “a claim of a bomb threat” at the Rockville station.

Passengers were evacuated and Metro Transit police are on the scene. There is no service out of Shady Grove. Some trains are making it to Twinbrook and Grosvenor. Metro is running shuttle bus service at Rockville and Shady Grove stops. Metro says to expect delays on the Red Line.

Stessel said there are no injuries.

“At this point we have no evidence of an explosive device at Rockville,” he said.

8:15 A.M. Update:

There is no train service between Shady Grove and Grosvenor, and delays impact trains heading in both directions.

There’s a Red Line service disruption at Rockville right now due to police activity, according to Metro. Red Line trains are operating to and from Twinbrook and they are working to set up shuttle buses for Rockville and Shady Grove. We’ll update you when we have more.
