Telegraph Road ramp closing on Friday

The ramp from the Capital Beltway’s inner loop (Interstate-95/495 South) to southbound Telegraph Road is scheduled to close from 9 a.m. to noon Friday. Workers who are part of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project are rebuilding the interchange.

The ramp closing is likely to have a significant impact on local traffic, and drivers should find alternative routes if possible Friday morning. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

For motorists who can’t avoid the area, these detours for southbound Telegraph Road will be in place:

Drivers on the inner loop’s THRU lanes will continue on the inner loop to the exit for South Van Dorn Street, then return on the outer loop to the exit for southbound Telegraph Road.

Drivers on the inner loop’s LOCAL lanes will take the exit for Pershing Avenue, then go right on Stovall Street, right on Eisenhower Avenue and right on Mill Road to southbound Telegraph Road.
