The average price of a gallon of gas in the District is just over $4, according to the latest information from the American Automobile Association. In Maryland it’s $3.83 and it’s $3.75 in Virginia.

Here’s a look at the week ahead.
The National Park Service rehabilitation project from 23rd to 15th streets NW continues and includes temporary closings of the parking lanes. Closings will occur at off-peak times and will be performed in one-block sections, the park service says.
Work will be performed in one-block sections, with a maximum of two lanes closed in each direction closed at any time.

17th Street levee
The park service and the Army Corps of Engineers continue construction of a levee across 17th Street, just south of Constitution Avenue. The first work will be on the east side of 17th Street. At least one lane will be open in each direction at all times, the park service says.
Rebuilding Benning Road
The District Department of Transportation is reconstructing Benning Road NE between 39th and 42nd streets. The project includes reconstruction of the roadway pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveways.
The work has started at 39th Street and will continue toward 42nd Street, with the northern portion of the road getting attention first, then the other side, then the middle. Workers will be there between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays. One eastbound and one westbound traffic lane will be kept open.
Metro weekend work
Blue Line: This weekend the transit authority plans to continue its work replacing rail switches at the Van Dorn Street Metrorail station. From 10 p.m. Friday to closing on Sunday regular Blue Line service will operate between Largo Town Center and Huntington, and there will be a special Blue Line shuttle operating every half-hour between Franconia-Springfield and King Street.
Blue Line trains will share one track between Stadium-Armory and Addision Road stations due to replacement of the slabs beneath the tracks. Metro says this work will make the ride smoother. Add 20 minutes to your travel times.
Red Line: Metro will continue making repairs to the platform at White Flint. From 9:30 p.m. Friday to the Sunday closing, trains will share a track between Twinbrook and Grosvenor. On the other side of the line, repairs will continue at Rhode Island Avenue, so from 9:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday, trains will share a track between the New York Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue stations. Add 10 to 20 minutes for a trip through the work zones.
Telegraph Road Interchange
Northbound Telegraph Road will be closed from the Beltway to Duke Street Monday through Thursday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge construction. Officials say there will be no Pershing Avenue access to northbound Telegraph Road.
Here are detours:
To access the outer loop: Turn right on Huntington Avenue east to U.S. Route 1 north to the ramp to the outer loop.
To access the inner loop: Take the new ramp to Eisenhower Avenue. Turn left on Eisenhower Avenue to the Eisenhower Connector access to the inner loop.
To access Duke Street and points north: Tke the new ramp to Eisenhower Avenue. Turn right on Eisenhower Avenue to the traffic circle. Continue onto Holland Lane to Duke Street.
The outer loop ramp to North Kings Highway is also being closed during daytime hours this week. To detour take the exit for Telegraph Road southbound to Farmington Drive, make a u-turn at Farmington Drive to Telegraph Road northbound, then turn right on North Kings Highway.
Dulles Metrorail work
Hunter Mill Road: Crews plan to close Hunter Mill Road at the Dulles Toll Road in both directions between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. this week. The closure is due to work on the bridge that will carry the Metrorail extension to Loudoun County over Hunter Mill Road.
To detour, if heading south: Turn right on Sunset Hills Road; left on Wiehle Avenue; left on Sunrise Valley Drive and reconnect with Hunter Mill. If heading north: Turn left on Sunrise Valley Drive; right on Wiehle Avenue; right on Sunset Hills Road and reconnect with Hunter Mill.
Beltway ramp: The ramp from southbound Interstate 495 to southbound Route 123 is scheduled to close from 11 p.m to 5 a.m. Traffic should exit at westbound Leesburg Pike and then use International Drive or Leesburg Pike to access Route 123.
