VRE train stopped; Metro option open

7:15 A.M. Update:

VRE train 308 is finally on the move, but it’s 35 minutes late right now. Train 308 will skip the Leeland and Brooke stations and head straight to Quantico.

Train 310, scheduled to depart Fredericksburg at 7:15 a.m., will be a bit delayed behind an Amtrak train, the rail agency reports. It’s the next Fredericksburg line VRE train and it is usually scheduled to arrive at Leeland at 7:22 a.m. and Brooke at 7:28a.m.

After that, the next train is train 312, scheduled to leave Fredericksburg at 7:40 a.m., arrive at Leeland at 7:47 a.m. and arrive at Brooke at 7:53 a.m.

Original Post:

Some VRE riders are experiencing major headaches as they set out this morning. Train 308, scheduled to depart Fredericksburg at 6:30 a.m., has been stopped and holding due to a stopped freight train. The train is now 30 minutes late and counting while the freight train is inspected.

The Metro option has been opened for VRE riders. Show your VRE ticket to Metro station managers for access.
