VRE trains slowed by flash flood restrictions

VRE riders can expect to encounter delays on Thursday due to flash flood restrictions. According to the Virginia Railway Express, these restrictions are in effect in all of CSX’s territory. All Fredericksburg Line trains will experience 30 to 45 minute delays (which will build up over the course of the route). Manassas Line trains will begin to slow once they approach Alexandria and until reaching Union Station, which cause up to 10 minutes of delays.
