8:50 A.M. Update:
An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway to the west of Connecticut Avenue is blocking two lanes and one of the shoulders.
Traffic signals are reportedly flashing at 12th and H streets in Northeast Washington.
And an accident reported at 14th and U streets in Northwest Washington could snarl traffic around that spot.
8:40 A.M. Update:
An accident involving five vehicles on East-West Highway shut down the roadway between Connecticut Avenue and Beach Drive in Chevy Chase for a significant part of the Monday morning commute.
The accident, which took place on East-West Highway at Glengalen Lane, occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on Monday morning. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services transported four people from the accident to area hospitals, but none had life-threatening injuries.
The road will likely remain closed through the morning rush hour. The lanes cannot reopen until the vehicles have been moved and fluids cleared off of the roadway, and there’s no timetable yet for when that will be finished, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
8:20 A.M. Update:
A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder at Arlington Boulevard, so expect a bit of congestion there.
An accident on southbound I-295 at Laboratory Road in Southwest Washington could cause delays. Same for accidents at Canal Road and M Street and on 9th Street and Constitution Avenue in Northwest Washington.
There’s also an accident on Montana and Rhode Island avenues in Northeast Washington.
7:50 A.M. Update:
The accident on East-West Highway just east of Connecticut Avenue is blocking the roadway in both directions, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.
There are some delays on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge. You can expect those to get worse as the morning rush continues, so expect congestion if you’re heading there.
7:40 A.M. Update:
East-West Highway is closed eastbound at Connecticut Avenue due to a car accident, according to the Montgomery County fire and rescue departments.
7:15 A.M. Update:
The shoulder has reopened on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway.
I-395 North is delayed approaching King Street as well as around Duke Street right now.
6:50 A.M. Update:
The inner loop of the Beltway is backed up around Gallows Road.
6:25 A.M. Update:
An accident on eastbound I-66 is blocking the right shoulder at the Beltway. Expect delays approaching this spot.
6:15 A.M. Update:
There’s congestion on I-95 North in Woodbridge and I-395 North at Duke Street.

Remember, some road closures that were in effect over the weekend cleared up Monday morning at 5 a.m.: the Telegraph Road lanes (southbound from Duke Street to Mill Road, northbound between the Beltway and Duke Street) and the inner loop lanes on the Beltway (at Route 123) should all be back to normal.
