Original Post:

Good morning, commuters! Today is an unusual day for travelers. Plenty of folks are still going to work, while many others are leaving early or taking off entirely to get a head start on holiday travel.

The weather isn’t going to help anyone, but it will cause particular problems for holiday travelers. There will be morning precipitation up and down the Eastern Seaboard along the I-95 corridor, according to the Capital Weather Gang. In this area, there could be fog, gusty rain and perhaps thunderstorms during the morning commute.

That should clear out later in the morning, followed by wind gusts and potential showers in the afternoon and evening. (If you’re leaving town tomorrow, the forecast looks much more promising.)

We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help: If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.

So far:

— An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway before the B.W. Parkway was blocking three lanes for a spell, but it’s now only blocking one lane and one of the shoulders.
