It’s that time of year again in the District. Residential street sweeping is returning to D.C., accompanied by parking restrictions meant to let crews properly clean the streets in question.
The District’s season for sweeping residential streets runs from March 1 to Oct. 31, according to the D.C. Department of Public Works.
But while the sweeping season begins Friday, you have a little time to get used to the return of these parking restrictions. They won’t be enforced until Monday, March 11.
Look for signs telling you the days and hours when the parking restrictions will be in effect on any given street. Parked cars can be towed (again, beginning March 11) so that crews can get to the curbs, while drivers could also be ticketed.
