Ride On service changes go into effect Sunday

More than two dozen of Montgomery County’s Ride On bus routes are changing schedules and timetables next week.

The service adjustments will affect 28 routes beginning Sunday, and will impact service on weekday routes as well as weekend service.

The changes include additional service for riders in the Silver Spring-Friendship Heights bus line. The Route 1 bus will run more trips in the afternoon.  Meanwhile, the Route 2 bus Silver Spring-Lyttonsville will make fewer trips on weekdays.

In the Germantown area, service between the Kingsview Park and Ride Lot and the Germantown MARC Train Station will be eliminated because of low ridership, officials said. The last day of the Route 94 Kingsview service is Friday.  Ride On is considering to add new service to the MARC Station to serve residents of the Clarksburg community starting in January.

Other routes will see some minor time adjustments to the schedules that will more accurately reflect the current time arrivals in traffic, Ride On officials said.

The new timetables can be found here.
