I-270 northbound local lanes reopen

All lanes of Interstate 270 north have reopened after an earlier incident.

The local lanes of Interstate 270 north are expected to reopen within the next 10 to 15 minutes, according to Maryland State Police.

The lanes were closed after an earlier incident in which a U.S. Postal Service truck that was full of mail overturned. The truck has been turned upright, and authorities said crews are working to clear the scene.

The northbound local lanes of Interstate 270 in Gaithersburg are closed because of an earlier accident involving a U.S. Postal Service truck.

Authorities said the road is expected to reopen by 9 a.m. Thursday.

The accident occurred on I-270 just north of Interstate 370.
