Amtrak service suspended, flights canceled because of winter storm

Amtrak said it is suspending some of its service Wednesday from New York and south of D.C. because of the latest winter storm that’s expected to hit the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic areas.

The services that are suspended include:

*Northbound and Southbound Crescent, Trains 19 and 20.

*Southbound Silver Star and Silver Meteor, Trains 91 and 98.

* Northbound and Southbound Palmetto, Trains 89 and 90.

* Northbound and Southbound Auto Train, Trains 52 and 53.

* Northbound and Southbound Carolinian, Trains 79 and 80.

* Eastbound and Westbound Piedmont, Trains 75 and 76.

Amtrak isn’t the only one being impacted by the storm.

Airline travel has been wrecked by the winter storm.

About 2,600 flights across the country have been canceled Wednesday, according to At Ronald Reagan National Airport, 60 flights were canceled as of Wednesday morning. Another 26 were canceled at Baltimore-Washington International Airport and 17 were canceled at Washington Dulles International Airport.
