Streets around 15th and L in NW reopened

Updated at 7:15 a.m.

Streets around 15th and L NW reopened Friday morning after an earlier incident.

Original 6:52 a.m.

Streets around 15th and L NW are closed Friday morning because of what D.C. police are calling a hazardous situation at this time.

It was not immediately clear what the problem was at 1150 15th Street NW, where The Washington Post is located. The streets are a main thoroughfare for traffic in the city’s downtown.

It was unclear how long streets in the area would be shut down. Drivers should avoid traveling in the area, according to D.C. police.

Dana Hedgpeth is a Post reporter, working the early morning, reporting on traffic, crime and other local issues.
