Albert Haynesworth cut by Tampa Bay Buccaneers

For those keeping score, this is the third team to have severed ties with the defensive end in the last 7 1/2 months. The Redskins traded him to the New England Patriots in late July; the Patriots released him in early November; and the Bucs picked him up the next day. He appeared in 13 games.

The move makes Haynesworth, who was due more than $7 million in salary and bonuses, an unrestricted free agent. Pro Football Talk speculates that a return to the NFC East is one possibility for Haynesworth, with Jim Washburn, who coached Haynesworth in Tennessee, the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive-line coach.
