Whether it’s because Bryce Harper tweaked his eyesight with contact lenses and a training program about three weeks ago or simply because he’s finding his comfort level, the baseball is a giant beachball floating toward the plate begging to be crushed.

Harper did just that Wednesday night, going 4-for-5 (with five RBI) and hitting his first grand slam for the Hagerstown Suns. Harper — who wasn’t exactly Mr. Magoo before seeing a vision specialist — has hit in 15 straight games and has reached base in 19 consecutive games. He leads the South Atlantic League with a .396 average and has a .712 slugging percentage.
