He’s still No. 85, but he’s no longer Chad Ochocinco. (J Pat Carter / AP)

As of today, he’s Chad Johnson again.

Marriage, it seems, caused Ochocinco to go to a Fort Lauderdale court and change his last name back to Johnson. He wed reality TV star Evelyn Lozada earlier this month and she wasn’t too thrilled with his last name. As Johnson explained it on his OCNN website:

“The couple preferred Evelyn’s last name to be a real name and not the fun ‘Ochocinco’ character we have come to love.”

What effect will the change have in his new life with the Miami Dolphins? Chad Johnson was a six-time Pro Bowler who averaged nearly 80 receptions over seven seasons. Ochocinco averaged 51.75 in four seasons. He had only 15 last season with the New England Patriots.
