Lawrence Taylor was sentenced to six years probation and must register as a sex offender, according to a decision handed down today at the Rockland County (N.Y.) Courthouse.

Taylor, the New York Giants’ 52-year-old Hall of Fame linebacker, pleaded guilty in January to sexual misconduct and patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute in May 2010 in a Montebello, N.Y., motel. He also was fined $1,400.

The judge denied a request by the girl, now 17, to speak during sentencing because, he said, victims are entitled to speak at felony sentencings and Taylor pleaded guilty to misdemeanors.

The girl, who is identified only by the intitials C.F., told reporters that Taylor took “something precious” from her and should be behind bars, according to the Associated Press. Denying that she is a prostitute, she said she was forced to go to Taylor's room and that she thinks he could tell she had been beaten.

“I believe Mr. Taylor could see my face and how young I was,” she said. “I did what he told me to do because I was afraid what would happen if I didn't.”
