LeGarrette Blount continues to remove doubts with Tampa Bay

Blount is the talented young man who was suspended for his final season at Oregon after he punched Boise State’s Byron Hout in a nationally televised game in 2009. His draft stock plummeted and he signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent. Discarded by Tennessee (where he scrapped as well), he signed with the Bucs in 2010 and began building his career, rushing for 1,007 yards and six touchdowns.

Monday night, he rushed for 127 yards and the game-winning touchdown. So far this season, he has rushed for 294 yards and three TDs.

“I had doubts for a long time,” Blount said after the fifth 100-yard game of his career. “Actually, I have no idea when I felt like I'd get the chance again. I eventually got it, and now it's time to run with it like never before.”

After spending most of her career in traditional print sports journalism, Cindy began blogging and tweeting, first as NFL/Redskins editor, and, since August 2010, at The Early Lead. She also is the social media editor for Sports.
