Allen then will head west for a visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, NBA.com’s David Aldridge reports. He’s also drawing interest from the Memphis Grizzlies.
LeBron James campaigned last week for Allen to join the NBA champions, but it’s not a slam dunk. Allen no doubt would have to take less money to join the Heat’s superstar-laden roster than he could get elsewhere. Miami is in position to offer only their mini mid-level that starts at $3.09 million; the Boston Celtics have offered a two-year, $12-million deal to keep him. The Clippers, Aldridge reports, have their entire mid-level of $5 million available.
While watching the Draft my son Bryce ask “Is Ray Allen gonna play for the Heat”. I said “I don’t know, I hope so”.
