Arizona will be ground zero on Tuesday as the Democratic National Committee goes up with a television ad that hits leading 2012 Republican contender Mitt Romney over the housing crisis.
Set to air over the next six days on local Arizona stations and on national cable outlets CNN and MSNBC, the ad comes as President Obama has turned his attention to housing.
It features a snippet of Romney saying, “Don’t try and stop the foreclosure process. Let it run its course and hit the bottom.”
Romney’s campaign quickly pushed back against the ad, saying:
“Under President Obama, American homeowners have dealt with falling home prices, rising foreclosure rates, and one of the worst housing markets in recorded history,” Andrea Saul, a Romney spokesman in a statement.
