It’s a family affair.
Now, the former GOP presidential hopeful is taking a key role in another family operation – Huntsman Corp., which announced Monday that the younger Huntsman will serve as one of its directors.
The multibillion-dollar chemical company, founded in 1970 by the elder Huntsman, evolved from the Huntsman Container Corp., which counts among its products fast-food containers such as the ubiquitous McDonald’s Big Mac “clamshell” container.
“Jon is regarded with dignity and respect throughout the world,” Huntsman Sr., who is currently executive chairman of the corporation’s board of the directors, said Monday in a statement on his son’s appointment. “His international and diplomatic experience is well known and admired. He has previously served as vice chairman of our Huntsman businesses and thus will contribute enormously as a member of our board of directors.”
