The Washington Post

Woodward: Media guilty of ‘misfocus’ on Libya

Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” elbows The Washington Post and the New York Times for over-covering the political dimensions of the scandal over the Obama administration’s response to the Benghazi attack — and under-covering the attack itself and the U.S. response. What about all that, Wallace asks guest Bob Woodward. “I think it was a misfocus, a substantial one, in addressing this specific question and all questions about campaign coverage,” responds Woodward. “I think it’s too much polls, too much the politics and not the documents of it, not the nitty-gritty detail.” Woodwardian solution: Have reporters camp out on the lawn of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice, who spread all that bad information about the Benghazi attacks stemming from an anti-Muslim video. Seconded!
